What's good, it's Tyreese. This is the Mobile Oil Change Podcast. Today is Tuesday, October sixth, twenty twenty-six. And I want to talk about the do it yourselfer. Because something showed up in the numbers yesterday, and if you're running a mobile oil change operation, you need to hear what it means.
So. Advance Auto Parts. You know the stores, the big orange and black signs, the guy behind the counter who may or may not know what a camshaft is. They reported their second quarter numbers back in August, and yesterday, October fifth, a market piece on the stock walked through the whole picture. And buried in the earnings is a line that should have every one of us paying attention.
Their do it yourself sales, the weekend warriors buying parts over the counter, fell by low double digits. Down double digits. Now watch this. Their professional channel, the shops buying from them, grew by low single digits in the same quarter. Same economy. Same customers. But the wrench moved from the home garage to the professional bay.
