Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about mobile oil change service in Philadelphia and the Greater Philadelphia area.

Service & Process

How does mobile oil change service work?
It's simple! You book an appointment online or by phone, choose a convenient time, and our ASE-certified technician comes to your location with all the equipment needed. We perform the oil change right in your driveway, parking lot, or wherever your vehicle is parked. The entire process takes about 20-30 minutes, and we handle cleanup and proper disposal of old oil.
What oil brands do you use?
We exclusively use premium Mobil 1 synthetic oils, the same brand trusted by NASCAR and professional racing teams. We offer full synthetic, synthetic blend, and high mileage formulas. All oils meet or exceed manufacturer specifications for your vehicle.
What's included in an oil change service?
Every oil change includes up to 5 quarts of premium oil, a new OEM-quality oil filter, a 25-point vehicle inspection, tire pressure check and adjustment, fluid level check (coolant, brake, power steering, washer), and a window sticker with your next service date. We also properly dispose of your old oil at no extra charge.
Do you work on all vehicle makes and models?
Yes! We service most passenger vehicles including cars, trucks, SUVs, and minivans. We work on all major brands including Toyota, Honda, Ford, Chevrolet, BMW, Mercedes, Audi, and more. Some specialty vehicles or those requiring more than 8 quarts of oil may have additional charges. Contact us if you have a unique vehicle.
How long does the service take?
A standard oil change takes approximately 20-30 minutes. If you're adding services like air filter replacement or wiper blade installation, it may take a few extra minutes. We always arrive with a 15-minute arrival window and respect your time.
Do I need to be present during the service?
While we recommend being present so we can discuss any findings from our inspection, it's not required. As long as we have access to your vehicle and keys, we can complete the service. We'll leave a detailed receipt and contact you with any concerns.

Pricing & Payment

How much does a mobile oil change cost?
Our pricing is competitive with traditional oil change shops, with the added convenience of at-home service. Synthetic blend oil changes start around $65, and full synthetic oil changes start around $85. High mileage and European vehicle formulas are also available. Visit our pricing page or call for an exact quote for your vehicle.
Are there any hidden fees or charges?
Never! We believe in transparent pricing. The price we quote is the price you pay. There are no trip fees, no disposal fees, and no surprise charges. If your vehicle requires additional oil beyond 5 quarts, we'll let you know the cost upfront before starting service.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), debit cards, and digital payments including Apple Pay and Google Pay. Payment is collected after service completion, so you can see the work before you pay.
Do you offer any discounts or loyalty programs?
Yes! We offer first-time customer discounts, multi-vehicle discounts for households with multiple cars, fleet pricing for businesses, and a referral program that rewards you for spreading the word. Ask about our membership program for additional savings on regular maintenance.
Do you provide invoices and service records?
Absolutely. After every service, you'll receive a detailed digital invoice via email that includes all services performed, products used, and our inspection findings. This documentation is perfect for maintaining your vehicle's service history and supporting resale value.

Scheduling & Availability

How far in advance do I need to book?
We often have same-day or next-day availability, especially for weekday appointments. For weekend appointments or specific time slots, we recommend booking 2-3 days in advance. You can check real-time availability on our online booking system.
What are your service hours?
We offer service Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Saturday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. We understand busy schedules and can accommodate early morning or evening appointments during the week.
Can I book an appointment online?
Yes! Our online booking system is available 24/7. Simply visit our booking page, select your service, choose your vehicle, pick an available time slot, and enter your location. You'll receive instant confirmation and a reminder before your appointment.
What happens if I need to reschedule?
No problem! Life happens. You can reschedule your appointment online or by calling us. We just ask for at least 2 hours notice so we can adjust our technician's route and offer your slot to another customer.
Do you offer emergency or same-day service?
Yes! We understand that sometimes oil changes become urgent. Call us directly at (215) 767-2125 for same-day service requests. We'll do our best to fit you into our schedule, though same-day availability depends on our current appointments.

Vehicle Requirements

Where should my vehicle be parked?
Your vehicle should be parked on a flat, stable surface like a driveway, parking lot, or street with legal parking. We need enough space to safely access the underside of your vehicle. Garages with adequate clearance work too. Avoid steep hills or soft surfaces like grass.
Does my car need to be running or warmed up?
No, your car doesn't need to be running when we arrive. Our technicians are trained to work efficiently whether your engine is warm or cold. If your vehicle has been sitting for a while, that's perfectly fine.
What if it's raining or snowing?
Our technicians are prepared for Philadelphia weather! Light rain or snow typically doesn't prevent service, though we may need to reschedule in severe weather for safety. If conditions are questionable, we'll contact you to discuss options.
Can you service my car at my apartment complex?
Usually, yes! We can service vehicles in apartment parking lots, condo complexes, and office parking garages as long as there's adequate space and no property restrictions. Some complexes require advance notice or approval - we recommend checking with your management.

Oil & Maintenance

How often should I get an oil change?
With modern synthetic oils, most vehicles can go 5,000-7,500 miles between oil changes. However, this varies based on your driving conditions, vehicle age, and manufacturer recommendations. We'll check your owner's manual specifications and advise you on the optimal interval for your specific situation.
What's the difference between synthetic and conventional oil?
Synthetic oil is engineered for superior performance, offering better protection at extreme temperatures, improved fuel efficiency, and longer intervals between changes. Conventional oil is petroleum-based and adequate for basic use. We recommend synthetic for Philadelphia's temperature swings and stop-and-go city driving.
When should I use high mileage oil?
High mileage oil formulas contain special additives that help condition seals, reduce oil burn-off, and protect older engines. We typically recommend it for vehicles with 75,000+ miles, though it can benefit vehicles with as few as 60,000 miles, especially if they show signs of small leaks.
Do you check other fluids during the service?
Yes! Every oil change includes a complimentary check of your coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, transmission fluid (if accessible), and windshield washer fluid. We'll top off washer fluid free of charge and alert you to any fluids that need attention.

Quality & Trust

Are your technicians certified?
All MOMS technicians are ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certified with extensive experience in automotive maintenance. They undergo background checks, continuous training, and must maintain our high standards of professionalism and customer service.
Is mobile oil change as good as going to a shop?
Absolutely - often better! We perform the same service using the same quality products as dealerships and shops. Because we focus exclusively on oil changes and related services, our technicians are highly specialized. Plus, you get the convenience of staying home.
What about oil spills and cleanup?
We use professional-grade equipment including spill-proof drain pans, absorbent mats, and vacuum extraction systems when needed. In the rare event of any spill, we carry cleanup supplies and take full responsibility. Your driveway will be spotless when we leave.
Do you properly dispose of used oil?
Yes, all used oil and filters are collected in sealed containers and transported to certified recycling facilities. Proper disposal is included in our service at no extra charge. We're committed to environmentally responsible practices.
What if I'm not satisfied with the service?
Your satisfaction is guaranteed. If you're not completely happy with our service, contact us immediately and we'll make it right. We stand behind our work and our reputation in the Philadelphia community matters to us.
