High-mileage formulations can include different detergent, anti-wear, viscosity, and seal-conditioning additive packages. The label "high mileage" does not replace the manufacturer's required viscosity or oil specification.
Does 75,000 miles automatically require high-mileage oil?
No single mileage threshold determines the correct oil for every engine. Vehicle condition, oil consumption, leaks, service history, manufacturer requirements, and operating conditions all matter.
