Tyreese: Look. Yesterday, two stories crossed my screen, and they are both about the same thing. Two different companies, two different sides of the business, and they both just figured out the same play.
Tyreese: Here is the thing. Kooner Fleet Management Solutions announced a partnership with Global Partners. This came out on E I N Presswire yesterday, October sixth, twenty twenty-six. And I sat there reading it thinking, oh, so the big players finally caught up to what every mobile operator already knows.
Tyreese: So let me break this down, because this matters for your business. Kooner F M S is a national on-site fleet company. They bring the technicians to the fleet yard. Preventive maintenance, mobile repair, D O T inspections, all of it, on site. Global Partners is a Fortune five hundred fuel company. Fifty-four liquid energy terminals from Maine down to Florida and into the Gulf states. They trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker G L P. Big energy company.
Tyreese: And the partnership is a referral deal. Global brings the fuel to the fleet. Bulk fuel delivery, mobile refueling, wet hosing, fleet cards. Kooner brings the maintenance to the fleet. When a Kooner customer needs fuel, they point them at Global. When a Global customer needs maintenance, they point them at Kooner.
Tyreese: Now watch this. The whole point, in their own words, is to help operators reduce avoidable downtime, improve asset availability, and simplify how they manage critical fleet services.
Tyreese: Asset availability. Say that out loud. That is the part people miss. The fleet manager does not wake up thinking about oil changes. He wakes up thinking about whether all fourteen trucks are rolling by six A M. Fuel and maintenance are the two things that decide that. And he has been sourcing them separately, coordinating them separately, chasing two different vendors when something breaks.
Tyreese: We have done this a hundred times. You roll into a fleet yard to service six box trucks, and the fleet manager is on the phone with the fuel distributor, or he has got a driver sitting at a gas station somewhere burning an hour of payroll. And this is where it gets interesting. Kooner and Global just said, what if the customer only had to think about this once?
Tyreese: So I started digging, and there is a second story that proves this is not a one-off. C S P Daily News just wrote up a company called FuelFox out of Birmingham, Alabama. They launched this past summer doing fuel delivery for fleets, at night. And now they are expanding to regular consumers. Twenty dollars a month, four fill-ups a month, one a week. Gas priced at the A A A average for the county. Forty dollars a month for the family plan, up to five people. You get a reminder the night before and the day of. And they do not just fill the tank. They clean your windshield and check your tires.
Tyreese: Boom. Think about what just happened. A fuel company is adding tire checks and windshield cleaning. A maintenance company is partnering with a fuel company. They are meeting in the middle, and the middle is the driveway, the office parking lot, the fleet yard. The vehicle never moves.
Tyreese: You know what I mean? The industry is shifting from bring your car to us, to we come to where the work is. Mobile fueling companies like Yoshi, Filld, and Booster Fuels have been at this for a year or two. And now the maintenance side is catching up to the same idea.
Tyreese: Alright, so what does a mobile operator do with this? Because I know somebody is listening thinking, great, so now I have to become a fuel company too. Nah. That does not make sense. Let me tell you why, from real experience.
Tyreese: Fuel is a different animal. FuelFox staffs their service with firefighters who carry hazardous materials certification. That is in the article. Because rolling around with a tank of gasoline in the back of a truck is a regulated, permitted, fire-code business. One spill, one wrong municipality, and you are in a world of hurt. We carry oil. Oil is messy, but it is not gasoline. Do not try to become the fuel guy. The regulations alone will eat your lunch.
Tyreese: But here is what you CAN do, and this is straight from the Kooner playbook. Build the referral partnership. You already work in fleet yards. You already have the fleet manager's cell number. Find the local mobile fueler, the bulk fuel distributor, the company doing wet hosing in your market. Walk in and say, I service these fleets, you fuel these fleets, let us send each other work. Same as Kooner and Global, just at our scale.
Tyreese: And when you pitch fleets, pitch the outcome, not the service. The fleet manager does not buy an oil change. He buys trucks that roll at six A M. We run fleet pricing at a hundred and twenty dollars per vehicle, a hundred and fifteen for five to nine, a hundred and ten for ten or more. But the pitch is not the price. The pitch becomes, we handle the maintenance, our fuel partner handles the fueling, one yard visit, zero downtime, you are done. You are selling him the thing Kooner just told the whole industry they are selling. Asset availability.
Tyreese: That is the lesson. The customer does not want twelve vendors. They want one throat to choke. Every time you bundle, every time you simplify, you become harder to replace. The fixed shops are spending millions on real estate. We are rolling into the yard with a van and a plan. That is the moat. The driveway is the moat.
Tyreese: I am Tyreese. This is the Mobile Oil Change Podcast. Go call your fleet manager today. I will see you tomorrow.
